Reasons Why it Takes Time For Your SEO Campaign to Take Effect

[ad_1]

Many people wonder why it takes so long for an SEO campaign to take effect. In this article I will discuss some of the reasons why SEO takes time and can't be done quickly.

Let's start with your website and let's say you have a 10 page website. If your search engine optimisation company has made the necessary changes to your content, Meta tags etc. Then it can take up to a month (in some cases never) for the search engines to re-index your WebPages to reflect your new changes. So with just the onsite work alone you can see that this all takes time and is out of the hands of the search engine optimisation company. There are however a couple of things that you can do to help speed up this process. If you ad a sitemap.xml file to Google this can help speed up the process. You can also get new links pointing into the changed pages from an external source. If you have a website that adds content on a regular basis and has many pages this can help the search engines index your website more quickly. As they will visit your website more regularly as they know you add content all the time. The search engines want to return the most recent results. If you have a new website getting the search engine to re-index your pages quickly may be more difficult.

Now let's take a look at link building and let's say for example you have placed a link in a quality directory. As most good directories have a back log of listing to get through in some cases it can take months before the directory editor gets to your link. He then has to check your website that it is relevant to the category that you have submitted it to then place the link in the directory. Now the rules will apply as above in regards to getting the page re-index so the search engines take your new link into consideration.

As you can see from the above information it can take some time for your search engine optimisation company's hard work takes effect. You just have to be patient. Once it does start to take effect you will then be able to see the benefits that search engine optimisation can bring.
